The 2020 Seattle Christmas Food Guide

Where to order prime rib, holiday ham, cookies, and more this Christmas.
The 2020 Seattle Christmas Food Guide image

Christmas is not as warm and fuzzy this year as it usually is, but that doesn’t mean that you need to eat a bowl of cereal for dinner while listening to The Lumineers’ very moody rendition of “Blue Christmas” on loop. If you’re looking for a special holiday meal for your household without having to cook, these restaurants are offering takeout specials - from preset menus to festive cookie platters.

If you celebrate Hanukkah, check out our 2020 Hanukkah Food Guide for latkes, brisket, sufganiyot, and more.

And if you celebrate neither of those, drink some eggnog.

Editor’s Note: On 12/16 we removed Addo from this list after hearing from readers about issues with their Thanksgiving orders.

For Christmas Eve, Homer is offering a $200 dinner for four that includes a beef rib roast, mashed potatoes, roasted wild mushrooms with leeks and sage, bacon-wrapped parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, a red wine jus, and a sticky date pudding for dessert - as well as add-ons like wine or eggnog. This Italian fine-dining landmark in Kirkland has Christmas (and New Year’s Eve) preordering available online, with options ranging from appetizers like sliced mojama with Castelvetrano olives and baked mussels with salsa verde and breadcrumbs to entrees like herb-roasted rack of lamb or spinach sformato for two. Note that they may be adding more dishes to the online shop, and don’t forget a pint of their fantastic gelato.

Speaking of Italian restaurants, Spinasse’s our absolute favorite in town. And they’re offering a few different Christmas specials. The first is their $60 dinner kit, which includes three of their most iconic dishes: tajarin with butter and sage, barolo-braised beef cheeks, and tiramisu. They’re also selling a Christmas cookie kit complete with 15 cookies, housemade spiked eggnog, and a pint of eggnog ice cream from Salt & Straw. The dinner kit must be ordered by 8pm on December 23rd to pick up that day, and the cookie kit must be ordered by December 21st for pickup on December 23rd.

Eating pie doesn’t have to end on Thanksgiving - order one (and various other desserts) for the holidays from this fantastic Filipino bakery by December 18th for pickup on December 23rd. Choose between buko pie, packs of silvanas, chocolate haupia pie, and/or one of their incredible ube cheesecakes. They’re also selling ube cookie dough and spiked ube eggnog. Place your orders online.

Zylberschtein’s in Pinehurst is serving a Christmas dinner that costs $25 per person and includes roast beef, roasted parsnips, Brussels sprouts with bacon, a buttermilk biscuit, and a dessert. One of our favorite spots in Georgetown for date night, The Corson Building is serving a Christmas dinner meal kit (with instructions for reheating) that’s also perfect for a date. On the menu, you’ll find a salt cod and potato spread with toast and pickled peppers, a chicory salad with celeriac, citrus, pistachios, pecorino, and mint, pomegranate molasses-braised duck legs with lentils, cabbage, and apple walnut tarator, and ginger molasses cake with pear crème fraîche and pine nut praline. It costs $75 a person, and you can place your order on their website for pickup on Wednesday, December 23rd.

Lowrider Baking Company

$$$$

Even Christmas baking “looks a little different this year.” And maybe following a single recipe to end up with 48 jam thumbprints for one human is something you’d like to avoid. If that’s the case, Lowrider Baking Company is selling a package of festively-decorated cookies for pickup, including pillow mint, whiskey Old Fashioned, and red velvet flavors. You can order on their website.

Or, maybe this year you’re feeling like eating cake for dessert instead of cookies. You could order some holiday cupcakes, tarts, and layer cakes from Trophy, or even order a DIY kit to decorate your own cupcakes. From chocolate candy cane minis to blue and white snowflake cakes that look like they belong at a Frozen-themed birthday party, you’ll find many holiday-themed treats on Trophy’s website.

Paragon Restaurant & Bar

$$$$

If you feel like doing a bit of cooking, but want the entire menu to be decided on and prepped, Paragon is the place you should order from. This Queen Anne restaurant is offering a choose-your-own-adventure dinner kit where you can add on items a la carte. You’ll find options for a variety of party sizes from one to four people, as well as various choices for appetizers (like baked Dinah’s cheese with cranberry and crostini), entrees (like whole-stuffed branzino), sides (like spiced carrots with honey and mint). There’s also a pavlova kit for dessert. You can learn more and place your preorder on their website.

This spot is Permanently Closed.

This all-day cafe and flower shop in Pioneer Square has a bunch of a la carte items for your Christmas table, from honey-glazed smoked coppa and herb-crusted prime rib to chocolate olive oil peppermint cake and cookie platters. As always, there are bouquet arrangements as well. You can place your order on their website for pickup on either the 23rd or 24th.

The restaurant at The Four Seasons is offering a Christmas Feast Box complete with a pasta first course, choice of entree, and dessert. There’s also a kid’s menu option available. Place a preorder online.

Sweet Nothings And More

$$$$

This pastry operation that pops up around the city has a delivery box available called the “Christmas Care Pack.” It includes a savory ham and thyme sweet potato danish, twice-baked gingerbread croissant, churro croissant, fruit cake coffee cake, and a cookie. You can order that on their website. Although, we kind of just want to order one of these and call it a day.

This elegant Downtown steakhouse has a $190 Chateaubriand dinner for two (including Caesar salad, bread, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, roasted corn, and a choice of key lime pie or banana bread pudding). There’s also a prime rib dinner for two with the same sides and dessert that’s $290. You can add on a la carte sides and desserts as well, but be sure to place your order by Sunday, December 20th at noon. Pickup is on Christmas Eve from 2-6pm.
