Westward Officially Reopens With A Renovated Space & New Menu

This Seattle staple is back just in time for summer.

Westward was one of our Greatest Hits for years before it closed last winter. The restaurant, where eating dinner was the single most important square in your metaphorical summer-in-Seattle bingo game, ended up being sold to the Sea Creatures team (of Bateau, The Walrus And The Carpenter, Bar Melusine, Deep Dive, and more). They closed temporarily for a remodel at the start of 2020.

On June 20th, they reopened for outdoor dining with a brand new space and menu. From the highlighter-orange dining chairs, to a tasty-looking slab of pork belly with salsa macha, one of our favorite summer spots is officially back. Reservations are coming soon, but for now, tables are only available on Wednesday-Sunday on a first-come, first-served basis.

And just like the Westward we knew before, you can still enter the restaurant through their docks via paddleboard, kayak, or cheaply-made inflatable swan. It’s hard to imagine a summer to-do list without “Dinner at Westward” marked with a check - but now we don’t have to.

Westward’s reopening isn’t the first important piece of Seattle patio news, and it’s far from being the last. Check out over 50 more Restaurants And Bars With Outdoor Seating.
