Piglet & Co is a nice-casual restaurant here to break up the monotony of life—which is helpful since we’re all on a spinning hamster wheel that shows zero signs of stopping. This one takes inspiration from Taiwanese night markets, so expect some flair in the form of dressed-up Asian comfort dishes. While Piglet & Co does a perfectly fine dinner, we actually like it best at brunch.

The brunch menu (only served on Sundays, 11am-3pm) is your ticket to the best of both worlds. It highlights hits from their family-style dinner menu of predominantly meat and seafood plates, plus daytime-y dishes that have much more of the “wow” factor. French toast, made from a pillowy slice of milk bread, gets a fun twist from the generous scoop of sweet brown sugar boba. And you thought breakfast burgers were boring? Theirs is stacked high with a fried egg, brown sugar bacon, and a hash brown, and practically teeters when your server drops it at your table. Also pay attention to the decadent pork belly chashao slices (served over rice at brunch), and the sweet-salty shrimp and pork toast—it’s finished off with burnt honey aioli you'll be tempted to lick off the plate.

If you do swing by for dinner, you’ll still have an enjoyable time. The food is well-executed all around, and you won’t be mad at whatever you order. But for a place inspired by the night market hustle and bustle, the after-dark energy is a bit stiff. Like a miracle, the colorful pig head hanging on the wall and the Bruce Lee films playing on a loop above the bar somehow feel more alive in the daylight, and there’s a buzzier and warmer atmosphere. And when you consider the fact that brunch is more memorable, getting stuffed on a Sunday morning—and adding some zest to your week—is a no-brainer.

The menu at Piglet & Co changes occasionally. Here's what you can expect.

Milk Tea French Toast

Whoever decided to throw brown sugar boba and strawberries on top of this dish was really onto something. This is french toast. Come in for brunch, order this, and leave happy.

Chashao Pork Ssam

Our favorite dish here. The sticky-sweet confit pork belly is straight-up luxury, and melts as soon as it makes contact with your mouth. Wrap it up in lettuce, add herbs and pickles—a necessary crunch and brightness—and go to town.

The B-Fast Burger

When brown sugar bacon, a hash brown, and a nicely fried egg combine with a juicy beef patty, you can’t go wrong. Piglet & Co pulls this burger off well, although you may have to be rolled out.

Honey Walnut Shrimp & Pork Toast

This dish is salty and a little sweet from the layer of candied walnut relish and burnt honey aioli. Kick off your meal with this.

Rice Porridge

This might be a runaway hit on one visit, and just fine the next. If you want warm and hearty to combat the fog blues, this ginger-y dish is a nice choice.

Chinese Style Steam Fish

If you’re here with four or more people, order this fish for the table—it’s gigantic. It’s steamed until gorgeously flaky, and the mushrooms and bok choy soak up all of the fish juice like sponges.
