Hotline
Hotline in the Outer Sunset is a rare cafeteria-style restaurant serving Korean-Chinese cuisine, known as junghwa. Ordering is pretty simple: just pick an entrée from the steam table, like fried pork drenched in thick sweet and sour gravy or garlicky chili shrimp so fragrant you can smell it down the block, and add on sides like japchae or fried rice. And since this place (from the team behind the Korean superette Queens) is geared toward takeout and located just two blocks from Ocean Beach, it’s a great place to swing by for hearty weekend lunches or quick dinners in their dining room that has just a few tables and chairs. When you come, never leave without the vegan mandoo, which are fried to golden-brown and stuffed with tender Impossible pork.
