Frolic & Detour Bakery
Where we've featured it
“If there was a MasterClass on how to make the perfect cookie, Frolic & Detour would teach it. They make eight different types of cookies, from fantastic chocolate espresso passionfruit to star anise snickerdoodle, and they’re all delightfully chewy on the inside and crispy outside. But my favorite is the birthday cake, a thicker, softer cookie that’s rolled in rainbow sprinkles and tastes like my animal-themed birthday party at Fentons circa 2004: a damn celebration. Frolic & Detour does monthly pop-ups at Garden Creamery and Deli Board, but if you want to get your hands on the cookies now, place an order online to get a box of 12 for next-day pick-up at Saint Frank Coffee or Fig & Thistle.” - JC
Birthday cake cookies
“I can’t relive my 2nd grade birthday party at Fentons (the one with face paint, sugary treats, and sprinkles galore), but I can bite into the thick, soft birthday cake cookie from Frolic & Detour - which certainly reminds me of the celebration of it all. The colorful cookies are rolled in rainbow and little heart-shaped sprinkles on both sides, which give them plenty of texture and an extra bit of sweetness. If you’re looking for something to inspire sugar rush nostalgia, I suggest you order a box of a dozen cookies for pick up here.”
One foolproof way to make your week better: get a box of cookies. Enter Frolic & Detour Bakery, a cookie-focused pop-up that does monthly events and weekly pick ups at Fig & Thistle Market or Saint Frank Coffee. This week, order a box with a dozen cookies - the flavors range from masala chai molasses and birthday cake to chocolate espresso passionfruit. Pre-order here by 4pm for next-day pick up.
Frolic & Detour pops up once a month at Deli Board and Garden Creamery, and focuses on cookies. They have eight different flavors that all sound great - including masala chai molasses, birthday cake, and chocolate espresso passion fruit - so if you want to try them all, your best bet is to order at least one of each. If you can’t wait for Frolic & Detour’s pop-ups to get your hands on these cookies, you can also place an order online - you’ll get a box of 12 for next day pick-up at Saint Frank Coffee in Russian Hill.
