Mike Bernstein started home brewing gluten-free beer about a decade ago, and after selling it to restaurants and grocery stores for the last few years, has finally opened a taproom in Oakland’s Jack London Square. As opposed to brewing with traditional grains and removing the gluten after, Buck Wild Brewing uses 100% gluten-free grains throughout the entire process. In addition to beer, you can order wine, hard agua frescas, and food by Kitava, a gluten-free spot in the Mission. The menu has things like loaded fries and fish and chips, which you can enjoy with your pale ale at an outdoor picnic table. Buck Wild Brewing is open Wednesday through Sunday.
