We’re back with another edition of things to do and eat this week - and it’s packed with birthday celebrations for an iconic SF brewery, a new pasta and crudo spot to check out in the Mission, and the grand reopening of one of our favorite Ethiopian restaurants. So text the group chat, get your calendars out, and use this guide to plan your week.

Anchor Brewing Steam Week

This month marks Anchor Brewing’s 125th anniversary, and they’re celebrating with beer-filled events from August 15th-22nd. Stop by their Public Taps taproom in Potrero Hill during the week for $3 pints of Anchor Steam beer. Throughout the week, they’re also hosting collaborations with Midnite Bagel (beer-boiled cheddar bagels), Frank Grizzly’s (beer-braised birria), and more.

Itria

Itria opened in May as a takeout-only restaurant serving pizzas and salads - but recently officially opened for dine-in, with a completely new menu. The Mission spot is now serving housemade pastas, a rotating list of crudos, and wine. If you want to check them out, make a reservation or walk up for a seat at the bar.

HenHouse Brewing Company’s Big Chicken Week

From August 10th to 13th, Petaluma-based HenHouse Brewing Company is releasing kegs of its Big Chicken Double IPA to restaurants and bars across the Bay. In SF, places where you can grab a pint include Monk’s Kettle, Zeitgeist, Anina, and more - check their Instagram for the full list.

Enssaro Grand Reopening

One of our favorite Ethiopian spots in Oakland was temporarily closed for over a year, and they finally reopened last month. On Sunday, August 14th, they’re celebrating the grand reopening with a free glass of champagne for all dine-in guests, plus the chance to win gifts if you RSVP.

Palmetto Superfoods

On Sunday, August 14th, Palmetto Superfoods will open their second location in the Marina (the original is in the Richmond). You can stop by and grab an acai bowl on the grand opening day from 11am-6pm - they’ll also have giveaways from places like The Sill, Hint, and Sparky’s Balloons.
