SFFeature
The SF Bay Area restaurants that have closed during the pandemic.
Even though new places continue to open, this is an incredibly challenging time for restaurants. The shutdown, reopening with new guidelines, and concerns for health and safety have forced many to close their doors permanently.
Below is a roundup of those places, though it is not a comprehensive list. The National Restaurant Association says that around 100,000 restaurants around the country have closed as of September 2020. These are just the ones in the Bay Area we know about right now. It’s also worth noting that not all of these places are closed for good. Some have stated their plans to return in a new space, or in a different form. We’ve indicated in parenthesis if that’s the case. If you know a place that should be included, please send an email to sanfrancisco@theinfatuation.com.
