The cash-only South Philly is the only place you should go to when you want the best of both worlds, like their cheesesteak on seeded crackly bread (that they bake in-house), the signature Upside Down pie that buries a layer of cheese beneath mounds of tomato sauce, and a classic margherita with the creamiest fior di latte in the city. It might feel like you have to choose when you're at this takeout-only spot, but just go for one of each. People care a lot about cheesesteaks and pizza in this city, and after you leave Angelo's, you'll understand why.

You can never go wrong with a classic. And for pizza, a margherita is as timeless as an Eagles Kelly Green jersey. Each bite of this pizza is filled with sweet tomato basil sauce, chewy crusts with a perfect char, and the creamiest fior di latte we’ve ever had.

Sometimes things aren’t exactly as they seem—Wired Magazine isn’t full of colorful HDMI chords. And neither is this pizza. It’s thick, square, and has a layer of cheese buried beneath a mountain of tomato sauce.
