Ward III

This one's been a long time coming. For a solid two years now, Ward III has been on of our favorite drinking establishments in Manhattan. Sure, there are a plethora of excellent sophisticated watering holes we love, but few are more accessible and user friendly than Ward III.

Ward III takes a friendly, educational approach to getting drunk, which is quite refreshing and different than anything else we've seen in NYC. Go ahead. Engage your bartender, you might just learn something. Good luck trying to remember it in the morning though.

Somehow, with all the drinking we've done at Ward III, it wasn't until recently that we actually sat down to have a meal here. Having heard not even the slightest bit of buzz about the food in this place, we were pleasantly surprised to find that eats were nearly as good as the drinks. Whether you're just looking for a snack or are hungry for a full meal, there's something for everyone. Those duck sliders are the perfect compliment to an Old Fashioned.

There's always something going on at Ward III. They know their crowd, and cater to them well. On any given night, be prepared to stumble into a bourbon tasting or a jazz listening party. But one of the pitfalls of being the coolest bar in Tribeca is the fact that it's crawling with suits during the week. And these aren't your typical Midtown commuter suits, these are a younger breed of hot-shot ad agency bros who think they're the sh*t. Overheard next to us: "Dude, check my new white gold cuff links, these are getting me laid tonight." Ladies, you've been forewarned.

Food Rundown

Deviled Eggs

Yup, another review, another high quality deviled egg. These ones are garnished with radish slices, smoked trout, and creme fraiche.

"Canadian" Tots

You really can't go wrong with tater tots. These tots have house-made beef gravy and cheese curds and we're not mad about it.

Quesadilla

Quesadilla's with gouda cheese, bacon and caramelized onion. These are gooey and delicious with just the right amount of smoke from the bacon. Order. You'll be happy you did.

Merguez in a Blanket

Pigs in a blanket with some house-made harissa as dipping sauce. Definitely get these.

Irish Rarebit

Grafton aged cheddar, worcestershire sauce, oatmeal stout, and jameson. This takes cheese on toast to a whole new level.

Fried Chicken Sandwich

This sandwich is stacked with hot honey, smoked chili-crème frâiche, house-made bread & butter pickles. We're really into this one.
