The Rose Bar is behind large velvet curtains on the ground floor of the Gramercy Park Hotel, and the walls are decorated with photos of various celebrities like Tupac and Paris Hilton. This should give you some idea of what goes on here. Expect pricey drinks, the occasional semi-famous person, and a space that feels like a Victorian parlor for people who know how to pronounce Givenchy. Just know that this place essentially turns into a club with a doorman at 9pm, and you will most likely see some people enjoying bottle service around that time.

Thanks to the prices, this casual(ish) bar in The NoMad hotel probably isn’t a place that you can afford to visit often. But when you do, eat dessert.

Loosie Rouge is a bar in Williamsburg for casual cocktails early in the night and a party atmosphere later on.

A narrow little spot in Nolita, Mother’s Ruin has great cocktails and good bar food.
