Peru could base its entire tourism industry around ceviche, and we’d be boarding the next flight. Surfish seems to agree, because they serve huge portions of fresh, postcard-worthy ceviche, with silky yellow leche de tigre, big kernels of choclo, and flowers. They also have a full menu with good renditions of lomo saltado, pollo a la brasa, and other bigger entrees, but we see this place as a cevicheria first. The big, two-story space in Gowanus stays bright with floor-to-ceiling windows in the front, and lime green booths inside. Keep Surfish in your back pocket for group hangs with friends or co-workers, when the team wants to celebrate a win with cocktails and a bunch of raw fish.
