RH Rooftop Restaurant

Written by

The stereotype of Meatpacking restaurants serving $40 pastas to tourists carrying bags of designer shoes isn’t totally fair - but you wouldn’t know it from a meal at RH. This place is on the roof of Restoration Hardware, and to get to the restaurant, you need to walk through a luxury retail shop that looks like a Greek shipping magnate’s mansion, then take an all-glass elevator up to the fifth floor. The walk-ins-only space has chandeliers over nearly every table, and smells strongly of truffles. That’s because there’s pappardelle with truffle ($45) on the menu, along with some standard American dishes that are generally pretty enjoyable. We like the burger, which is basically a high-end version of a fast-food burger, and the roasted chicken with a ton of jus. If you’re not put off by the very expensive food and drinks (they only serve beer and wine), you can have fun here, especially if you come with a group and sit on the big outdoor terrace.
