Rangoon serves some of the best Burmese food in NYC, and this Crown Heights spot is ideal for when you need a new dish to daydream about during your next meaningless conversation. If you like making good choices, prioritize the braised pork, which is a pile of fall-off-the-bone tender meat cooked in a sweet tamarind sauce. The mohinga (lemongrass fish noodle soup) is also a must-order. You could stop by for lunch or dinner wearing leggings and a T-shirt, but since there are string lights around the backyard patio and rainbow-colored linen napkins on every table, it also works for an outdoor date night.

Cafe Rue Dix is a casual spot in Crown Heights where you can get very good French-Senegalese food.
