Since Fat Choy moved to New Jersey, we’ve been looking for another Chinese-leaning vegetarian restaurant to alternate with Spicy Moon. The food at Púsù isn’t as noteworthy as those places, but it’s a decent option if you’re in Williamsburg. Don’t mistake this for an everyday takeout spot though. It looks like someone transformed a monastery into a night club, and is priced accordingly, with mains in the $20-$30 range.

The vegetarian menu mostly sticks to produce-based dishes, with Beyond Meat making rare appearances in staples like sweet-and-sour pork and sesame chicken. Hit Púsù before a night out on the busy stretch of Bedford, and if you want to make an occasion of it, get the pumpkin mapo tofu. It arrives inside a small pumpkin, engulfed in flames.
