The Public is a hotel on the Lower East Side, and it feels like it should be in the Meatpacking Spot. It’s big and sleek, and the lobby bar looks like a fancy, modern living room where you aren’t supposed to touch anything. The rooftop is more casual and lively, but you also have to get past a doorman in order to get there. And, on weekends, this probably won’t be easy - but if you manage to do so, you can enjoy the views. They’re excellent.

Azul at Hotel Hugo

Azul is the Cuban-themed rooftop bar at Hotel Hugo. Think of it as a slightly less sceney alternative to Le Bain.

Mr. Purple is the restaurant/bar on top of Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side. It’s a good place to grab a drink with a group, but it does get busy.

If you need to go out and dance on the Lower East Side, Home Sweet Home is, at this point, a classic option. It's divey, but there's big disco ball.
