Pig & Butter
People sometimes describe a crowd as being shoulder to shoulder, but not in a literal sense. We actually mean it when we say that you'll be sitting shoulder to shoulder at this brunch-all-the-time place on the Lower East Side. If the party next to you is talking about how Peter got fired because of his drinking problem (and that no one is actually sure if he's learned anything from that), you will hear every last detail about poor Peter.
If you want something that will wake you up immediately, get the very spicy Jamaican jerk chicken burger with chipotle crema, guacamole, and sweet pickled red onions. This burger comes with a side of very good parmesan truffle shoestring fries (these seemed to be on most people's tables). The rest of the menu has familiar breakfast items like french toast, omelettes, and a BEC sandwich. For $17, you can drink as many mimosas and red sangrias that your body can handle in 75 minutes. (If you happen to know Peter, don't bring him here.)
While we don't leave this place with immediate thoughts of coming back soon to try more dishes, if you're craving waffles at 3pm on a Wednesday, Pig & Butter is certainly a good option.
