Pachanga Patterson is a casual Mexican spot in Astoria serving very good tacos and large plates. We’re fans of the adobo shrimp tacos with mango, and the slow-roasted pork flautas with chili mayo and crumbled cheese. The narrow space has bar and table seating, and they play loud music like The Killers and Run-DMC. During nice weather, the big backyard is a great spot for a group dinner and some margaritas with housemade hibiscus syrup.

Trattoria L’icontro is not only awesome, but worthy of a trip to Astoria with a group of your friends. Everything about the space is thoroughly cheesy and overstated, but that's kind of the whole point. No gimmicks, just really good Italian food and really nice people.
