Say there’s very loud construction next to your office or you’ve temporarily banned yourself from your open-floor plan desk until you can actually finish your project, the next step should be going to Ole & Steen on 48th Street. This is a cafe where you can sit down, eat a nice salad or turkey sandwich, and use your laptop for a few hours (there’s free wifi). It’s primarily a Danish bakery that specializes in different breads and pastries, but there’s a whole menu of lunch and breakfast things. And in the case that Sandra wants to have your weekly one on one out of the office, this spot also works nicely for a coffee or lunch meeting.

There are a few Souvlaki GR locations in NYC, including this one in a small basement in Midtown East. Stop by for some great, casual Greek food.

Le Petit Parisien roughly translates to “place with good sandwiches on baguette.” Or maybe not. Either way, stop by for a good sandwich in Midtown.

Gai is a tiny takeout spot in Midtown East specialising in Hainese-style steamed chicken. It’s great for a quick, simple lunch.

GRK Fresh Greek review image
Review

Grk is a counter-service Greek chain that makes a pretty decent plate of shawarma. Try it for a quick lunch you’ll probably eat at your desk.
