A Nepalese convenience store in Ridgewood, Mount Everest Deli & Grocery is one of the best places in the area to shop for South Asian snacks and groceries. It also has a giant flat-top grill and fry station next to the checkout counter, where you’ll find breakfast wraps, samosas, and other to-go food that will have you coming up with excuses to buy masala potato chips, just so you can grab lunch since you’re already there.

Mount Everest's especially gooey egg-and-cheese paratha wrap with a chai is the closest thing to a guaranteed good morning you can get in this city. Later in the day, go for a cheesy momo paratha wrap: yes, that’s a lot of words, and it’s the first time we’ve ever had dumplings inside bread, but it works. The samosa chaat is a great anytime snack. There’s nowhere to sit inside, but just across the street there’s a triangle with a few park benches where you can take your haul.
