Morgenstern's is mostly known for their massive selection of creative ice cream flavors, but, in 2021, they started offering savory items like burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and fries as well. We have mixed feelings about those additions. Their fried chicken patties have too much breading and are dry with very little seasoning, while their skin-on, thick-cut VIP crispy fries aren't even that crispy and taste burnt in an unappealing way. However, we do like their burgers with their well-seasoned, smashed, and crisped-up patties on browned, soft sesame buns. These quarter-pound burgers are still pretty greasy and juicy despite being cooked well-done, and if you opt for the bistro version, it comes with plenty of bacon. Resist the urge to automatically order fries as a side. Instead, get a boozy milkshake or a few scoops of ice cream—like Vietnamese coffee rum, olive oil chocolate eggplant, or durian banana—to go with your burger.
