There comes a time in the weekend where you must ask yourself a simple question: do I dance or do I not dance? If it’s a dancing night, consider Lot 45. This place in a warehouse, so there’s enough space to actually dance like a person having a good time - instead of the shoulder isolation stuff that makes you look like a self-conscious teen at a wedding. As for the music, it’s usually something you know the words to. There’s a cover, but you can just think of that as your $10 charge for having a fun night.
Lot 45 is the Bushwick equivalent of the Jane Hotel. It isn’t quite as put-together as the Jane (it’s more of a warehouse), but there are some couches and chandeliers and, on weekends, you can get some dancing done here. At night, there are DJs, with occasional themed dance parties. So if you’re looking for a place to get a little rowdy with a group but you don’t want to have to go to a Manhattan bar and deal with a line of half-drunk people who claim to know the DJ, try this place. Just be aware that there might be a cover.
If you want to dance to music you know the words to, and you want to stay in Bushwick, Lot 45 is your best choice. The warehouse by the Jefferson L has a giant bar and a room in the back that’s big enough to fit a stage, a bunch of couches, and a dance floor - without feeling too crowded. There’s a cover on the weekends, but the drinks themselves aren’t too expensive, and it’ll all be worth it once you break out your dad-at-a-wedding moves. Tell your cool friends to take the dainty shoulder bobs elsewhere.
When: Mon-Fri, 5-8pm; Sun, 5-10pm
The Deal: $1 Oysters, $3 Drafts, $5 Well Drinks, $6 Rose & Red Wine
Lot 45 is essentially an enormous living room that happens to be in a warehouse in Bushwick. It’s just off the Jefferson stop of the L train, and it’s great for dancing on weekends - but they also have a good weekday Happy Hour. It takes place every Monday through Friday (and from 5-10pm on Sundays), and it’s perfect for when you’re with a group of people who want cheap beer and oysters. If you only drink pink things, you’ll be glad to hear that rosé is also included in their Happy Hour.
