Opening: Late October 2020
Going to the Alps and yodeling your ABCs might still be in the cards for you sometime in the future. But if you’re curious about what to eat when you’re done, let a server at this new Austrian spot on the Upper East Side give you a few pointers. Hütte will serve game meats, charcuterie, and fondue that you can eat while wrapped in a blanket on their backyard patio. Thankfully, the restaurant will also have electric heaters to keep you from feeling like you’ve been locked out of a ski lounge. No word on whether the restaurant will have an official policy on yodeling or some kind of yodeling-focused playlist, but you will find drinks like mulled wine and beer on the menu.
Yodeling in the Alps might not be in the cards for you this winter. But for now, Hutte’s outdoor restaurant experience made to feel like an Austrian ski lodge, might be your best bet. They built a heated tent and filled it with a bunch of antique tables and hanging antlers, so whenever you’re in the mood for fondue, game meats, or Austrian wine, throw on your favorite furry boots and try them all here.
