Hartley’s is a very nice Irish pub in Clinton Hill, and it’s the sort of place where the bartender will know half the people drinking at any given time. Mostly that’s because it’s tiny - but it’s also very much a neighborhood spot. It’s on the first floor of a small brick apartment building, and if you spend time in the area, it should be your go-to spot for a quiet beer with a friend. There’s also some food like soda bread and beef stew made with Guinness, in case you’d like to pretend you’re on a culinary tour of Ireland.

Locanda Vini e Olii
We’d love Locanda Vini e Olii if we lived down the street, but there are other restaurants in Clinton Hill we'd recommend first.

We’re not sure what recent market research indicated that Tribeca desperately needed two more upscale bar food restaurants. With no vibe and mediocre food, the drinks aren't enough to bring us back for more.
Baylander Steel Beach
Baylander Steel Beach is a bar on a converted navy ship at the West Harlem Piers. It's a great place to spend a weekend afternoon or evening.

Hotel Delmano is probably the best date spot in Williamsburg. It’s dark, cozy, and feels like an ocean liner that sank a long time ago.
Doris is where you go in Bed-Stuy when you want to meet people. Those people might not be sober, but, oh look, there's a disco ball.
Berg'n is a big indoor beer garden/food court from the people who brought you Smorgasburg. It's good for groups, and they have full bar.
