The name is long, but Hard Times Christmas Liquors at the Sunset Bar is just one little bar in the space that used to be Montana’s Trail House. When you’re there, it feels like you’re in a small cabin in the woods, and, while there are some craft beers, most people will probably be drinking Budweiser or Miller High Life. There’s also a big menu of stuff like deep fried mapo chili dogs, chicken wings, and avocado tempura fries, so consider this place the next time you need to get something to eat after a night out drinking in Bushwick.

La Isla Cuchifritos
We love La Isla Cuchifritos for the fact that a) it’s cheap and delicious, and b) it sort of feels like you’re grubbing in tropical Puerto Rico rather than not-so-tropical Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Cider House
Brooklyn Cider House is a bar, brewery, and prix-fixe restaurant in Bushwick that’s a great place to spend a night eating and drinking with a group.

Eleven Madison Park
Fancy though it may be, Eleven Madison Park is surprisingly lively. But make no mistake, this is fine dining at its most serious.
Although they’re known for their libations at Fort Defiance, this restaurant doesn’t feel like one of those super-cool, pretentious cocktail dens that we all know too well. It has the promise of the perfect neighborhood spot that, if we lived in this hood, we’d frequent all the time.
