Good Story is the rooftop bar at the Arlo Soho, although you might know it as “Harold’s Surf Shack.” That’s what it’s called in the summertime when they bring in some beach decorations and serve slushy drinks. The rest of the time, however, it’s just a nice, plain rooftop bar that isn’t especially tacky or impossible to get into. We like it for an afterwork drink or a weekend hang when the weather isn’t the worst and you want to be somewhere above ground level. There’s a big outdoor patio with a bunch of tables, and there’s a decent-sized inside area as well.

Jack's Wife Freda
A good spot for your weekend brunch rotation, but don't rely on it for dinner. Jack's Wife Freda does not get better when the sun goes down.
Lure Fishbar is still just as much of a Soho party yacht as it was when it opened in 2004. The food has only gotten better.
Raoul’s has been a Soho institution since the '70s. If you can’t have a good time at this French bistro, you probably can’t have a good time anywhere.

Not a place for normal dinner time. This is a place for drinking, and a dirty one at that. It just so happens that they serve amazing bar food that will save your life at 1:00am.
Walker’s is a Tribeca landmark – a prime example of a Classic NYC Establishment, and a low key spot that attracts an older crowd who enjoy a good burger and some Sports on TV.
2nd Floor Bar & Essen
2nd Floor Bar & Essen is a semi-hidden bar above 2nd Ave Deli on the Upper East Side. It’s perfect for date night, and the food is great.

The Heights is the rooftop bar at the Arlo Nomad, and it’s pretty low-key for how nice the views are. Stop by for a drink before a show at MSG.
The Crown is the rooftop on top of the 50 Bowery hotel, and it has excellent 360 views without being too cheesy.
