Gazala’s is a Middle Eastern restaurant on the UWS where you can sit around a big table, share a mezze platter with a group, and drink some relatively inexpensive wine. The house platter comes with a few different dips and and some (mostly fried) appetizers, as well as a basket of thin housemade pita. They also make shawarma, various pies, and kebabs - and whatever you order, you should be sure to have some meat and hummus on your table. The space itself feels a little like a big living room with brick walls and banquettes, and the service is very friendly. So if you live in the area, keep this place in mind for any big group meals or casual weeknight dinners.
