Galicia Tapas
Included In
This Spanish restaurant got a nice little facelift when it moved from Broadway in Washington Heights to this sunny corner in Inwood two years ago. Now there’s a long bar plus a roomy outdoor patio where you can enjoy perfect Spanish omelets, grilled octopus, and, if you want to make a night of it, classic seafood paella with clams, mussels, and shrimp. Galicia also has a sizable list of Iberian wines, which you should definitely explore as you work your way through an onslaught of tapas.
Food Rundown
Shrimp And Chorizo
A deceptively simple mix of shrimp and spicy sausage, this dish comes in a deeply flavorful tomato-based sauce that’ll have you scraping bread across the bottom of your plate. Prefer to go gluten-free? Opt for a side of the creamy mashed potatoes.
Paella Marinera
It takes 40 minutes for this home-style paella to arrive at your table, but the good news is that the food comes piping hot. The straightforward layer of rice is mostly obscured by a jumble of seafood including shrimp, mussels, clams, and lobster, with red pepper and peas adding a colorful touch.
