Em Vietnamese Bistro
Where we've featured it
There are two exciting new things happening in Dumbo this week. The first is the opening of a Vietnamese restaurant called Em (which has a location in Bensonhurst already). The second is Dumbo Open Studios, a free art show with 100 artists, galleries, and art organizations participating. Art In Dumbo, a resource for arts in the neighborhood, created a helpful map to all of the in-person exhibitions in the area that you can check out before or after lunch or dinner.
After over a year of being in a pandemic-related, restaurant-opening limbo, the husband and wife team behind Em Vietnamese are finally opening their second restaurant location in DUMBO. While their original spot in Bensonhurst focuses on dishes like chicken wings, phở, and mango smoothies, the new DUMBO restaurant has a larger menu including more seafood options like Saigon-style scallop rice porridge, mussels, and a bowl of garlic butter clams with a bánh mì on the side. For now, the new restaurant on Front Street is open weekdays during lunch, but will also offer lunch and dinner service on weekends.
