Caledonia is, above all, a whiskey bar. They have an enormous scotch selection, a large number of snifters, and plenty of Irish and American whiskey as well. That said, it isn’t the sort of place where you have to whisper and swirl your glass before you take a drink. Mostly, it just feels like a relatively calm pub that happens to have a lot of brown liquid in stock. The little space is long and narrow, with a bar up front and a few tables in back, and it works for anything from date night to a drink with your parents.

Barney Greengrass is the definition of a Classic NYC Establishment. What’s not to love about a 100-year-old tradition of sturgeon scrambled eggs and a H&H bagel with lox, cream cheese and tomato?

Boulton & Watt
Boulton & Watt is a solid neighborhood hang with average bar food and some TVs for sports viewing purposes. Adjust expectations accordingly.
Good Enough To Eat
The Upper West Side may not be flush with noteworthy dining out options, but they certainly have one meal on lockdown – brunch. Good Enough To Eat has been an institution up in these parts for a good 30 years, and a spot we'll happily go to for simple, heavy handed home cooking.
Bill's Bar & Burger
We had hoped that instead of conforming to Midtown, Bill’s Bar and Burger would make Midtown conform to it. It did not.

DTUT is both a coffee shop and a bar, and you can also make your own s’mores here. If you live on the Upper East Side, it’s a useful place.
If you ever need to get drinks with some people near Lincoln Center, the Dakota Bar is a solid restaurant/bar/lounge nearby.
Dive 75 isn’t quite a dive. Nor is it a cocktail bar. It’s just a nice little bar with board games and couches on the UWS.
