BYGGYZ is a tiny sandwich shop on the Lower East Side where they make ones like a “BYGGYBEEF” - braised short rib, melted cheese, and pickled things on a semolina roll. That’s the headliner here (and the larger version will run you $16.50), but they also do other sandwiches like pork, duck and turkey, and a vegetarian. The combinations are pretty interesting, and the staff is friendly, but it’s definitely a little pricey. There also isn’t much seating, although there are plenty of outdoor benches in the neighborhood. Maybe stop in when you finally get tired of the turkey club you always order at the bodega by your apartment. And be sure to get their donut ice cream sandwich.
