L’Artusi is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. If you want to eat there, put your name in for a seat at the bar, then grab a drink a few doors down at B’Artusi. This West Village wine bar feels like a thumbnail version of its sister restaurant, and it’s a wonderful place to have a cocktail or a glass of wine while you share a few small plates with a friend or date. The menu is mostly geared towards snacking, with options like tuna crudo, steak tartare, and an aguachile that tastes like a deconstructed shrimp cocktail. The marble bar is always packed with couples drinking wine and house negronis, and there are few small tables where you can sit and catch up with someone you like.

One of our favorite West Village Italian spots, L'Artusi is still as reliable as ever. Try it for a special dinner, and order pasta.

Via Carota review image

Via Carota is a walk-in only Italian spot in the West Village, and there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait a few hours for a table. It’s worth it.
