Bar Bonobo is a sceney cocktail bar in Chelsea with mid-aughts pop on a booming sound system and a small dancey area towards the back. It’s a martini-drinking spot (they have several versions, including a CornStar Martini, served in a bowl of popcorn), and though the cocktails aren’t worth going out of your way, this could be a useful spot if you need a drink before dinner. There are lots of tables and bar seats up front, and the snacks—like crispy duck spring rolls with a pickled carrot salad—are better than the drinks. The Monday-Wednesday Happy Hour has a few $15 cocktails, and the music eventually transitions to a less grating, Khruangbin-centric playlist.
