Back Alley Bread is a Brooklyn bakery born out of the pandemic. The owners are two chefs who used to work at Blue Hill at Stone Barns and The Grill respectively, and they’ve invented a new pastry called the Angel Donut, which has the satisfying crunch of a beignet with the plushy interior of a doughnut hole. This place has other sweet things like ube buns and caramel apple pop tarts as well as savory items like a chicken and biscuit pot pie. Check their Instagram to find out how to order everything. (The process changes.)
