Antonio’s Trattoria is an old-school Italian restaurant in Belmont, right near the busiest part of Arthur Avenue. This is the kind of place where you could have a giant group dinner or a relatively special date. It’s dark, pretty big inside, and nice without being super fancy. They have everything from thin-crust pizza to veal meatballs and gnocchi, and while we like the pasta more than the pizza, we think every meal here should start with their caesar salad - it has the perfect dressing.

A legendary East Village Italian restaurant that we have decided we can now only visit when nobody else will be eating there. Like at 3pm on a Tuesday.

Bamonte’s is a red-sauce Italian spot that’s been open in Williamsburg since 1900, and things here don’t seem to have changed much since then.

Gaia is a little Italian place on the LES that keeps weird hours and has good, cheap food.
