An Indian food counter in Market 57, Ammi is by the same people behind GupShup—but instead of butter chicken and bone marrow, the menu here is a brief list of homestyle favorites. We always get the masala dosa, which is made to order and perfectly crispy. The dosas come with two chutneys: one spicy tomato, one coconut. The dosa is big enough to share, but unless you’re getting a ton of other stuff from the food hall, you might want to keep it to yourself. It’s served with a cup of rich, spicy sambar, and you should get a tamarind slushie on the side.
