Akdeniz is next to a 2 Bros Pizza and a fitness club called Swerve, but as soon as you walk into the narrow, one-room space, you’ll forget all about the unfortunate things that happen on 46th Street. This is a casual place with good Turkish food (like a tasty mixed grill kebab with rice), and you’ll find a few different pre-theater set menu deals as well as $30 bottles of wine.
If you’re looking for an English pub in Midtown, The Shakespeare is quite possibly the nicest. Stop by for happy hour.
Sen Sakana is Peruvian-Japanese place in Midtown that might be good for a business lunch, although you don't really have to spend your money here.
Osteria Laguna is an Italian restaurant near Grand Central with enough space for a big group (or just you and some pizza and wine).
Leyla is a Turkish restaurant on the UWS that works well for a date or a nice-but-not-formal dinner near Central Park.
