NYC Restaurants That Have Temporarily Closed For Winter

Between the cold weather, the challenges and costs of outdoor dining, and the city’s indoor service shutdown, more and more NYC restaurants continue to close. Unfortunately, some places have shut down permanently (we keep track of those here), and some have closed for the foreseeable future.

Below you’ll find a running list of all the city’s restaurants and bars that have announced temporary dining closures. It’s important to note that even though you won’t be able to stop by for a meal in-person, some spots are still operating takeout and delivery, and others have transitioned to selling groceries - we’ve noted those details next to each restaurant’s name.

More than ever before, everyone who loves restaurants (us, you, your friends and family) needs to pitch in to help fight for their survival. In addition to ordering takeout or delivery, consider donating to Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants (ROAR) and Robin Hood’s Employee Relief Fund. They’re providing $500 grants directly to restaurant workers who need them in New York City. And if donating isn’t in the cards for you right now, use the Independent Restaurant Coalition’s page here to contact your representatives urging them to support legislation that includes federal relief to small, independent restaurants.
