This week, you’re going to want to stay cozy. So go watch a few movies, eat a new donut, or do a sudden spit take into a hot tian doujiang while you listen to some comedy. Or, if you’ve already reached your breaking point just a few weeks into winter, try an activity called “bumper cars on ice.” It’s exactly what it sounds like.
Once you finish one of Win Son Bakery’s scallion pancake BEC’s, you won’t be able to get up, so you might as well stick around after hours on Thursday to enjoy some comedy. The restaurant’s monthly show features comics you’ve seen on Fallon, HBO, and Bravo. Just be sure to get to the spot with ample time to eat beforehand. The show starts after the kitchen closes.
This Saturday, Wildair is bringing back Donuts w/Friends with a drunken cocktail donut created by Madeline Wise and Colin Stokes—who also do some other cool stuff (act on your favorite shows, edit cartoons for The New Yorker, etc.). 31st annual New York Jewish Film Festival
The New York Jewish Film Festival starts today and runs through January 25th with online and in-person screenings at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater. This weekend, you can catch Vadim Perelman’s Persian Lessons and Kaveh Nabatian’s Sin La Habana with Q&As with the directors afterwards. Round out your day with a meal from one of the Best Restaurants On The Upper West Side.
