At first glance Off Site just looks like a small, chill bar perfect for a beer and a conversation—which it is. But the really remarkable thing about the Little River nano-brewery is the food, which also kind of looks fairly standard at first glance.

The small menu features recognizable classics like a burger, hot dog, and fried chicken sandwich. Simple? Not so much. Because every dish here is among—if not the—best version of these bar food staples anywhere in Miami. And it makes this tiny, unassuming little beer bar one of the pound-for-pound most delicious places in the whole city.

For that reason, we wouldn’t recommend coming here and just drinking. Although you can certainly do that. They'll project sports games onto the wall and this is a solid first date spot if you're just aiming to have a beer and a chat.

Still, try to time your visit on an empty stomach. That way, you won’t have to watch other people enjoy their crispy Cuban sandwich or unbelievably good hot dog while you sit there, sadly sipping your delicious beer and wishing you didn’t waste stomach space on that bowl of yogurt an hour ago.

Fried Chicken Sandwich

This is (at the time of this writing) our favorite fried chicken sandwich in Miami. The beauty has a gorgeous slab of fried chicken that is almost (but not quite) too big for its toasted, buttery bun. There’s nothing fancy or gimmicky going on here—just perfection at every level, from the pickle ratio to the shredded lettuce that adds a refreshing crispness. Could another fried chicken sandwich come along to dethrone it? Maybe. But that’s going to be a tough task.

Burger

The burger is another example of the power of simplicity. It doesn’t immediately grab your attention when it hits the table, but as you bite into it, you will be greeted by all the essential burger flavors, dialed up to 11. This is mostly thanks to the super flavorful patty—a mix of koji-cured chuck, brisket, and short rib.

Wings

These are the wings you want to be eating alongside a cold beer. They’re both smoked and fried—two objectively good things, like a dog that can also play jazz. There isn’t a photon of the wing’s exterior that isn’t perfectly crispy. And under that crunchy skin awaits two to three bites of outstanding smoked chicken.

Hot Dog

If you consider yourself a bonafide hot dog person, it’s your duty to order this. The best part of this bad boy is the all beef, house-made hot dog, which is so much more flavorful than any hot dog we’ve ever tried. But we also really love how they stick it in a toasted split bun similar to a lobster roll.

Country Cuban Sandwich

The bread on this Cuban sandwich is pressed crispy enough to play shuffleboard on. But we also really like what's going on underneath that bread: Lechón, aged country ham, house pickles, and Kewpie mustard.
