Icebox Cafe

This South Beach spot has an enormous second location on a quiet street in Hallandale Beach. It has three huge spaces: a greenhouse filled with vines and hanging plants, an indoor space with a salvaged church pew for seating, and a patio. The menu is mostly sandwiches, salads, burgers, pastas, and pan-Asian dishes—and it’s all solid. Get the curry chicken, which has a coconut curry sauce over a crisp roasted chicken breast on a bed of vegetables. We also like the chicken parmesan with a side of pappardelle that comes smothered in a slightly sweet red sauce. But as with the original location, the big draw here is dessert, including a great key lime pie and a tres leches-inspired layer cake.
