Edelweiss is a German bakery just a mile west of Commercial Pier. You’re not coming here for the atmosphere (you can hear a pin drop in the dining room). You’re coming to this breakfast/lunch spot for outstanding baked goods and one of our top-three Fort Lauderdale sandwiches, the leberkaese, which features slices of Bavarian meatloaf on a warm baguette. There are more German classics on the menu: various sausages, pretzels, and an excellent apple strudel hanging out in a display case full of equally excellent desserts. This is a perfect choice for a hangover breakfast or post-beach day lunch.
