Como Como

On the clubstaurant spectrum, you could do worse than Como Como. The food here is better than most places with a DJ in the center of the dining room. But it’s also not so good that you should come here specifically for the food. The menu leans towards seafood, with a few perfectly fine Mexican ceviches, a grilled snapper you probably won’t remember the next day, and fried seafood tacos that are just OK (and certainly not worth the price tag). But if you do want a bit of a dinner party atmosphere and are trying to eat in South Beach, keep Como Como in mind. Just prepare for a loud dining room, and definitely order the roasted esquites, which has a very satisfyingly crispy exterior. Also, this place has a little mezcal lounge in the back that’s worth checking out after you’ve signed the check.
