We don’t know about you, but burgers have helped us through some tough times. Whether mitigating a hangover at 3am or saving the backyard barbecue after dad accidentally dropped the hot dogs in the pool, they’ve been there for us. And some of our favorite ones in Miami are still here for delivery and takeout. Check out the 13 options below and order up the burger support you need right now.
We love Lokal’s burgers even when the outside world is completely normal. And it turns out they taste just as good when the world is not very normal at all. You can’t go wrong with any of the burgers here - or the very good sides like the chili and alligator strips - but if we had to be quarantined with only one, we’d pick the frita burger. Call directly for pick up at (305) 442-3377 or find them on the delivery apps.
Lokal’s sister restaurant in Wynwood is also accepting takeout and delivery orders. The menu is pretty identical (and equally as delicious) to Lokal’s.
Tap 42 has locations from Boca to Coral Gables and they’re all open for takeout and delivery on Uber Eats right now. The Prohibition burger is what you want here. It’s a thick patty covered in white cheddar and bacon, and it’s the kind of thing that tastes very good alongside a cold beer, which you can also order with your burger online.
Royal Castle is a classic spot that specializes in sliders, and they’re so good that we’d happily undergo a 90-minute adventure/comedy road trip with our best friend to get our hands on one. The west Little River spot is open for takeout and luckily, you don’t have to go on a semi-magical quest with NPH to eat their slider six-pack with crinkle-cut fries. Just look for them on Uber Eats.
Ariete’s Chug burger is the perfect big burger. It’s got two patties, just enough toppings and sauce, and will absolutely require two hands to eat. But it’s not so big that the entire thing collapses into a sad, soggy heap after the first bite. This is what you want if you had a very vivid dream about a cheeseburger the size of a truck last night. You can order from the Grove restaurant online.
We assume you’re reading this because you’re at least mildly interested in eating some sort of meat between two pieces of bread. So we’re going to lump the frita into this guide because it’s no doubt in the burger family tree and our favorite frita joint in town happens to be open for takeout. Call the Calle Ocho diner directly at (305) 644-6054 to place an order for pick up. You can also find them online here.
And while we’re on the topic of fritas, El Mago De Las Fritas in Little Havana is also open, and they do a solid frita. You can call them at (305) 266-8486 to place an order for delivery or takeout. And you should definitely add a flan to whatever you decide to get.
Normally, the Pinch burger isn’t available at dinner. But you can find it on the Upper East Side restaurant’s takeout menu now, and you should absolutely take advantage of that. This thing is, to borrow a phrase from “the kids,” thick with two C’s. The big patty is cooked to a lovely medium-rare and tossed between a soft brioche bun. There are fries involved too. It’s just a fun time and should be making an appearance in your living room sometime this month. Order online.
Just because you don’t want to eat meat doesn’t mean you can’t still have a burger. These days, the veggie burger is more common in Miami than six-year-old BMWs that cut you off in traffic, but one of the best is still at Wynwood’s Love Life Cafe. They have a version with a Beyond Meat patty and one with a superfood patty and guacamole. Order online and get one of their very good smoothies too.
Blue Collar’s dry-aged cheeseburger is a pretty standard but delicious burger. They do switch things up slightly here by using a Portuguese muffin as the bun. And it will, if nothing else, convince you that the Portuguese muffin is the most underrated sandwich bread on this planet. Just order online and see for yourself.
Look, sometimes you just want Shake Shack. You wake up with only one goal in mind - to get a ShackBurger near your face. Thankfully that’s still possible because you can order takeout from Shake Shack’s Miami locations online. If today is one of those kinds of days for you, go for it.
