It’s hard to keep our kitchen stocked with desserts during quarantine - partially because getting to the grocery store is a pain (we’ve got a guide to help with that, by the way) and partially because sweets don’t seem to last longer than 15 seconds inside our apartment these days. But the next time you finish dinner only to come to the crushingly painful realization that you’re out of ice cream, you can use this guide to find some takeout dessert and avoid having to eat those expired M&Ms.
All restaurants featured on The Infatuation are selected by our editorial team. Where To Get Dessert Takeout & Delivery In Miami is presented by Caviar.
Frice is an excellent ice cream vendor located inside Little River’s Citadel food hall. They used to only sell wholesale to restaurants, but now offer delivery and to-go scoops of their creative and delicious flavors (also available in ice cream sandwich form). Options change frequently, but the ones we’ve had (like guava chocolate chip and mamey with cookie butter) all made us do an unconscious little ice cream dance.
Although the mysterious marketing team behind donuts has convinced the masses that these things can be eaten for breakfast, they’re undoubtedly dessert. But we truly don’t care what time a day you eat them, especially if you’re ordering from Salty Donut. Theirs are good all the time and are also currently available for delivery or pick-up on their website. Just get us a maple bacon, please. Thanks.
Wynwood’s Dasher & Crank is still doing takeout and delivery orders for their ice cream, which includes some very interesting and excellent flavors, like coconut ube, elderflower, and toasted cardamom. You can either call ahead at (305) 213-1569 to place an order or walk right into the shop for a scoop to-go.
Key lime pie debates get heated in South Florida, but just about everyone in Miami agrees that Joe’s version is a top-fiver. You can get an entire pie (they keep really well in the freezer) or just a slice from Joe’s Take Away, or have it delivered straight to your front door in the event of a spontaneous key lime pie debate.
Calle Ocho’s Azucar is accepting takeout orders, whether you just want a couple scoops of café con leche Oreo ice cream or various pints to stuff in your freezer so you can safely say you have a six-month supply. Call them at (305) 381-0369 to place an order for takeout or find them on the major delivery apps.
The Kendall ice cream shop Sweet Melody is open for takeout and delivery. They have a peach cobbler flavor named after Creed from The Office, so maybe get some of that and rewatch the entire series for the third time? Find them on the delivery apps or give them a call at (305) 280-2505 to place an order.
Bachour is a fancy bakery with locations in Coral Gables and Doral. The baked goods here are the kind of things that might earn a handshake from Paul Hollywood or be purchased for $200,000 at a gallery during Art Basel. But they also do more than just look impressive. Everything we've had here - from the shiny petits gâteaux to the outstanding guava and cheese danish - are really good. Order them when you want to dress up and drink champagne with your dessert.
Mamma Leone is one of our favorite places to eat in Edgewater. The Italian bakery makes a whole bunch of great things, like pizza and sandwiches, but their selection of sweet baked goods is excellent too. The menu changes a lot, but they usually have things like Italian donuts filled with Nutella or custard, apple cakes, sweet croissants, and other pastries we like a lot.
The Versailles bakery is open for takeout orders, which means you can load up on pastelitos, flan, tres leches, guava cheesecake, and more Cuban desserts. Add a cortadito to your order if it’s been way too long since you’ve had Cuban coffee. Call (305) 444-0240 to order or get delivery via the apps.
Midtown Creamery has some pretty intense ice cream creations, like a “giant” ice cream sandwich, brownie sundaes, and milkshakes that could last you three days. The Edgewater spot is currently delivering on most major delivery apps. You can also call (786) 536-2281 to order.
Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlour, Restaurant & Country Store
We know, Jaxson’s is not in Miami (it’s in Dania Beach), but this legendary ice cream parlor has been open since 1956 and is still a South Florida institution. Also, it’s most likely the setting of at least one birthday party where you accidentally ate so much ice cream that you got sick. So, we figured that you might like to know that they deliver now.
Want to stress-eat an entire pie? Same. And you can go get some very good desserts to-go at Fireman Derek’s - both at the Wynwood and Coconut Grove locations. They have your typical holiday pies but also very fun things like a sundae pie and something called a Salty Monkey Pie, which is topped with pretzels and will be eaten very fast once you bring it home. You can order online.
Night Owl Cookies
If you want a cookie as big as a frisbee, check out the menu at Night Owl Cookies. They’ve got two locations in the Design District and near FIU. The menu includes a bunch of pretty crazy-looking cookies that would work wonderfully during a movie night or to fling across the room at your disrespectful roommate. You can order online.
Lincoln Road’s Frieze is delivering and accepting takeout orders. The Lincoln Road spot has ice cream by the scoop, pint, quart, or in between two cookies. Call them at (305) 538-0207 to place an order or find them on the delivery apps.
If you have a sweet tooth, then the words “Nutella pizza” probably make you want to do a backflip into outer space. (That’s a good thing.) And Mister 01 serves a great one, dusted beautifully with powdered sugar and served nice and hot.
