The Best New Sandwiches In Miami

Seven new sandwiches you should introduce to your mouth immediately.

Sandwiches travel well. That’s a sandwich fact. (Another sandwich fact: pickles belong on everything.) And as more places switch to takeout and delivery, we’ve seen an influx of new Miami sandwiches. So we put this list together of our favorites because we would really hate for you to miss out on a sandwich opportunity.

The Spots

Brickell’s Stanzione does sandwiches now, which is billboard-worthy information for fans of Italian subs. They’re available for online ordering Thu-Sun, and options include meatball, caprese, and mortadella with pistachio pesto. All of the above definitely require two hands to eat.

Boia De is still keeping their takeout operation alive while they do outdoor dining. And on that takeout menu, you’ll find two very good sandwiches - their fried chicken sandwich and muffuletta. Just order both so you don’t have to choose.

Rosie’s, a pop-up from the team behind Overtown’s Copper Door B&B, is making one of the best fried chicken sandwiches you’ll find in Miami right now. Just look at that crunchy beauty. Don’t you want that on a plate near you? If you answered an enthusiastic “yes,” look for them on most major delivery apps or call them directly for pick up at (305) 454-9065. Also, head’s up: they’re only open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for breakfast and lunch.

The downtown seafood spot is doing a new pop-up called Red Sauce, and they’ve got a section of the menu devoted to hoagies. They have a meatball parm, veal parm, chicken parm, and eggplant parm. Order online and prepare for cheese.

A cheeseburger, in our opinion, is a sandwich. And the new Downtown spot Over Under has a pretty good one. You can stop by for dine-in or order for takeout. It goes very well with their frozen paloma.

Benh Mi is a takeout-only pop-up run by a local chef, and it’s sort of a meal kit situation. You DM their Instagram to place an order (options include lemongrass meatball, roasted pork, mushroom, and spicy fried chicken), then pick it up and assemble at home with instructions. Even if you’re cooking skills are low, it’s pretty hard to not end up with something delicious.

We eat a lot of sandwiches, but even we’re not sure we’ve ever come across a vegan pan con lechón in the wild. But Sanguich de Miami managed to make a really good one. They call it the “Vegañooo” and it’s made from shredded jackfruit that’s been roasted in a lot of garlic. Also thrown in the mix are pickled onions, mojo sauce, and toasted (lard-free) Cuban bread.
