Miami Restaurants Forced To Shut Down Indoor And Outdoor Dining

Miami restaurants must cease dine-in service starting Wednesday, July 8. Only takeout and delivery will be permitted.

Update:Miami-Dade County has tweaked its order, and will now allow outdoor seating only. The rule goes into effect on July 8. Read more about it here.

Miami-Dade County has ordered restaurants to close their dining rooms once again, effective Wednesday, July 8. This includes outdoor dining as well. However, delivery and takeout will still be allowed, so we’ll essentially be right back where we started before phase one openings.

The order comes as Covid-19 cases continue to surge throughout Florida. While many restaurants have been doing their best to follow proper sanitary guidelines, various restaurants throughout Miami have been cited and shut down for violating social distancing rules. There is no timeline for when these closures - which also include gyms - will be lifted. That will depend on whether or not the number of positive cases in Miami starts to decline.

For now, though, you can still support restaurants through takeout and delivery. We’ll do our best to keep you updated on the latest restaurant offerings. In the meantime, you can check out our Ultimate Miami Takeout & Delivery Guide for tons of ideas about where to order your next meal.
