Even though new places continue to open around Miami, this is an incredibly challenging time for restaurants. The shutdown, reduced capacity, and so many other factors have forced many places to close their doors for good.
Below is a roundup of those places, though it is not a comprehensive list. By some estimates, hundreds of restaurants have closed in South Florida. These are just the ones we know about right now. It’s also worth noting that not all of these places are closed for good. Some have stated their plans to return in new spaces. We’ve indicated in parenthesis if that’s the case.
If you’re looking for ways to show support, keep ordering takeout, tip well, and also let your local representative know that helping independent restaurants and workers survive this crisis is important to you. The Independent Restaurants Coalition has made it easy to ask your rep to support the Restaurants Act with this automatic email builder.
