We’re unsure if there’s an online message board somewhere for LA models, but if there is, someone on it is telling them all to go to The Hudson. This bar/restaurant in West Hollywood has a crowd straight out of a Wilhelmina open call and decent enough food that no one is eating. Come weekends, this place is a tequila-soda madhouse.
Best known as that bar in West Hollywood that seemingly clones Michael Kors models in the bathroom and programs them to socialize with you at the bar, The Hudson also has a brunch on the weekends that isn’t half bad. The Michael Kors clone army recedes back to their re-programming stations during the day, leaving the space on Santa Monica far more relaxed than what you’d find at night. The brioche grilled cheese with short rib is a revelation, and there are $12 mimosa carafes. Happy Saturday.
Everyone’s favorite neighborhood bar to spot a Marc Jacobs model also does a solid brunch. Its 11am atmosphere is more relaxed than its 11pm atmosphere, but you’ll still see someone you had a crush on from that CW show you used to watch. Beautiful people never really leave here. The menu is your typical eggs, salads, and burger brunch stuff, but it’s actually pretty solid. The $15 mimosa carafes and $20 bottomless rose make up for anything it lacks.
The trendy little train car that could – filled to the brim with unfairly beautiful people – never fails as a weeknight spot to grab a drink with friends. The Hudson rides a very fine line between being completely casual and completely too much, but as long as you’re OK with that you and your friends will be more than fine.
