It wasn’t that long ago that Glassell Park was a quiet, residential area next to Highland Park. And while the area certainly maintains its family-oriented roots, this tiny Eastside neighborhood is undeniably coming alive. Case in point—The Grant. With a sleek, art deco-ish interior and craft cocktails made with ingredients like furlani vermouth and Burmese tonic, this place wouldn’t be out of place on the ground floor of The Roosevelt. That said, instead of chaotic valet lines and lost club kids, you’ll find a low-key crowd consisting of first date night caps, neighborly hang outs, and young parents getting in one last round before the babysitter calls.
